Specttrum News (Kulbir Singh Kalsi)Swami Satyeshananda, Secretary, Sri Ramakrishna Mission at Chandigarh addressed the participants of Startup Weekend at EDC on ‘Success and the Inner Connect’.


Organised by Startup Accelerator Chamber of Commerce (SACC) and Chandigarh Administration, Department of IT at the EDC, 89 participants who were working ultimately in 17 teams on their respective projects, received a spiritual break in the afternoon on Saturday and had an intense interaction with Swami Satyeshananda.


Professionally a doctor, Swami ji asked the youngsters to pursue the material goals but always remain connected to the inner soul and the innate goodness that prevails within each one of us. Entrepreneurs have great responsibility towards the wellbeing of the society and their work becomes divine once they devote themselves to their project with utmost honesty, integrity and love, Swami ji said.


Out of the 89 participants who registered for the 54-hours Startup Weekend, formed teams with around 17 projects that were finally selected for further development, which included Drug Haat for providing medical supplies at people's doorstep, to Ezy Spray, an pesticide spraying product that saves 30-40% of the product with better efficiency and more convenient for use, to Cheating App which is crowd sourcing the classroom notes from students for sharing with others to simplified sterilization process by Plasmoid.


Mentored by Vishal Chalana of Winshuttle, Hridesh Madan of Bullseye, Manipal Dhariwal of Netsmartz, corporate communication strategist CJ Singh, lawyer Prabhjit Gill, financial wizard Atul Maleri, amongst others, the teams also went out in the market to get people's feedback and customer validation.

 

Besides the coworking space that the Startup Accelerator Chamber of Commerce (SACC) would be offering to the winners free of cost for six months, Google has offered $500 credit to build web or mobile apps, while Amazon Web Services would be offering $100 credit and free domain name subscription for one year by .Co.
