Chandigarh based ‘NGO Tammana’ adds another feather in its cap on completing 100 months of serving the society in December. The NGO will commemorate this achievement by hosting its 75th event on 25 December, between 4 pm and 8 pm at Plaza, Sector 17, Chandigarh.

The State Awarded & Registered, NGO Tammana was founded by Ms. Isha Kakaria on 1st September, 2008. Since then, under her guidance, the members of the NGO have diligently served the society with a smile.

This event will not only mark NGO Tammana’s 100 Month Anniversary but this Diamond event will be one of its kind. It will provide a wide arena for community participation. The event is going to be an amalgamation of the work the NGO does round the year. It will cover various causes and social concerns ‘Tammana’ has worked for, in these 100 Months.

The event invites the public at large to be a part of this event that will be full of cause-based activities with lot of fun and entertainment too. The 100 Month Anniversary will promote the inception of clean and green environment by free distribution of 100 Saplings for plantation to general public and 100 to its Team Members; in association with the Forest Department, Chandigarh. Further, there will be trivia for all consisting of 100 questions based on awareness with 100 gifts too!

Throughout the year, the NGO works for the upliftment of residents of various orphanages & shelter homes like that of Guru Aasra Trust in Palsora and Manaana, Samarth in Sector 15, Ashreya Home in Sector 47 and Kartar Aasra in Sector 1, Chandigarh. This event will also witness the participation of children from these organizations who will also release 100 Red balloons cherishing the nearing Christmas & equally signifying the message of ‘Know Aids for No Aids’. As ‘Tammana’ considers spread of education as an important objective; 100 books will be collected by the members and distributed to the children at the event. Keeping the spirit of Christmas alive, the members of NGO Tammana will also organise treasure hunt of finding 100 T logos with attractive prizes & free vouchers for the winners. The presence of a Santa Claus will make the evening more colorful & memorable. The viewers can also enjoy at the photo booth to be set up at the plaza by Team Tammana.

Eminent officials from Traffic Police Chandigarh will grace the occasion with their presence. Special counter with informatory boards will sensitize all upon Traffic Awareness & increasing road accidents. Alongwith, various other counters will be set up too, for awareness on eye (provided by PGIMER) and organ donation (provided by Fortis Hospital), drug de-addiction, aids control etc.

The NGO’s contribution in the field of health promotion has been remarkable over the years, and to help continue the same, educational material in form of 100 booklets from each counter will also be distributed to spread awareness on these issues. 100 Forms each shall be available at these counters to help pledge & know more about these causes. 100 Free Bands shall also be distributed to spread the awareness. All associates, members, interns and regular in-kind donors are also invited from over the 100 months, who along with Tammana have a made a difference to the society.

Along with these, Tammanites believe that every act of kindness counts and thus the star attraction of the event will be the ‘Zinda Dil Awards’ for honouring the work of 100 citizens who serve the society in any form. Another highlight of the event will be lightning of Candles in the shape of '100' symbolising the successful 100 months. Similarly, on display for all, will be the collage of 100 smiles spread in these 100 months. The event will also showcase its 100 events & activities. The event will also include a ‘100 shaped cake’ cutting with 100 sweets distribution.


‘Tammana’ manifests the idea of doing things with great love. This ‘Diamond Event’ in the 100th Month propagates this idea strongly and beautifully.
